The Old Manor House Bakery Wedding Service
At the Old Manor House Bakery we strive to offer a highly personalised service creating bespoke designs encompassing specialised sugar craft skills and the finest of sugar craft flowers. Lisa is passionate about creating beautiful and tasty cakes that meet each individual client’s requirements.
The Old Manor House Bakery offers a wedding cake consultation service to discuss design ideas, flavours and size requirements. Consultations are by appointment only and you are encouraged to bring as much inspiration with you as possible, examples being: fabric swatches, pinterest boards, mood boards, flower ideas, wedding invitations or venue photos etc. This is an opportunity to taste a few samples of cakes also, please inform us of any special dietary requirements before booking. Please note that Cake Consultations are usually grouped together on set days and therefore appointment times need to be adhered to, if you are late for the appointment your time cannot be extended. Following your consultation a bespoke design will be created for you and a quote provided. There is a charge for this service and is payable once the appointment has been made, dates can be transferred with sufficient notice but if you fail to attend then the cost is non- refundable.
Wedding cakes are quite possibly the most expensive cakes you will ever buy and are an important aspect of many couples celebrations and at The Old Manor House Bakery we take limited bookings in order for Lisa to give your cake her complete undivided attention.
Deposit and Payment
Once the consultation has taken place and the design has been finalised or crepe booking made you will receive an invoice detailing the total cost. A non refundable deposit of 25% is required and your quotation will be valid for 2 weeks, after which time your date may be made available to someone else if payment is not received.
Full payment is required no less than 12 weeks prior to your event. Should you be placing your order with less than 12 weeks notice we will discuss payments with you at the time of your order.
Please note: In the event that any payments are not received, your order will not be released or completed until payment has been made in full. Non-payment may result in your order being delayed or cancelled, at your own responsibility.
On Payment of the deposit you are agreeing to the terms and conditions as outlined.
All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Cancellations
Should you wish to cancel your order this must be received in writing. If a cancellation takes place more than 12 weeks from the event your deposit will be retained and will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the final balance. Less than 12 weeks to the event the full balance of your order will be payable. Orders paid in full and cancelled with more than 12 weeks notice will receive a partial refund of 50% of the total amount minus the deposit. Orders paid in full and cancelled with less than 12 weeks notice will not be refunded due to loss of business arising from turning away other bookings for that date.
In the unlikely event that we need to cancel your order due to any unforeseen circumstances we reserve to right to find substitute companies.
If for any reason you wish to change the date of your order with reasonable notice we will try to accommodate your needs where possible, however if we already have bookings for that date and we are not able to accommodate you your deposit will be retained and if this change occurs within 12 weeks of your original date, full payment will be required.
In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel due to Force Majeure: including effects of extreme or adverse weather conditions, industrial disputes, terrorist activity, natural disaster, external activities resulting in the closure of venues for health and safety reasons, fire, compliance of government orders/rules/regulations/directions, disruption of utility services, malicious damage, accident or breakdown, acts of God, war or any other event beyond the reasonable control of The Old Manor House Bakery we will not be liable to the customer and the foregoing shall not give rise to any claim for compensation or damages and will be subject to our cancellation terms as detailed above.
Wedding Cakes
Due to the bespoke design and fragile nature of many wedding cakes we provide a delivery service. This takes the stress of transporting your bespoke cake away from yourselves and allows for final touches to be made at the venue once the cake is in situ. A delivery fee may be charged depending on the location of the venue and the distance from our base in Staffordshire.
All that we ask from you is that you inform your wedding venue that the allotted location for the cake is strong, level and appropriate to support your cake, this should be away from direct sunlight especially in the summer months and must not be in a position where it is likely to get too hot as this may cause damage to the cake.
We can where required liaise directly with your wedding venue or event organiser in order to arrange delivery, we will require a signature from them on delivery of your cake for confirmation the cake has been delivered in good condition and will also take a photograph for our records once your cake is in place. Once delivered we cannot be held responsible for your cake, or the location of your cake, at the venue.
We cannot be held responsible for eventualities outside of our control including:- severe traffic disruption, severe weather conditions, venue inaccessibility, no-one available at the delivery address, untoward accidents during transportation but we will do everything within our power to prevent these situations arising.
If you prefer to collect your cake we will agree a collection time, please bear in mind that wedding cakes are extremely fragile and rather heavy. Once the cake has been collected full responsibility is with yourselves and we cannot be held responsible for any damage thereafter. We will provide you with any specific set up or handling instructions.
Mobile Creperie
If you are hiring the mobile creperie we require an adequate vehicular access to your event and a safe space to park a van including space around the van to serve your guests safely.
It is your responsibility to check vehicular access.
It is your responsibility to ensure guests treat us and our van with respect and dignity. We do not tolerate any form of violence or aggression and if at any time we feel threatened or that any of our property is likely to be damaged by your guests you are accountable for the damage and service will be ceased immediately without refunds being offered.
Any waste from your event is your responsibility to remove, we do not clear tables or provide bins. Food is supplied on disposable plates/cones with disposable cutlery. It is your responsibility to inform the venue of this prior to booking our services and agree a suitable waste disposal plan for your event.
Allergens and Inedible Items
We cannot be held responsible for any allergic reactions suffered from eating our cakes or crepes if all special dietary requirements have not been identified. Your cake and crepes will be prepared in a kitchen where nuts are used, we do offer Gluten Free options, however we do also handle gluten in our kitchen and it is your responsibility to make guests aware of this.
Many decorations on our wedding cakes are constructed with wire such as sugar flowers we may also utilise inedible decorations such as broaches, fresh flowers etc, these must not be eaten. We will provide documentation of inedible items with your cake. In order to stabilise tiered cakes dowels are used throughout. If you wish to use fresh flowers on your wedding cake you must ensure these are safe to use on a cake as some flowers can be toxic.
On a final note as designers of the wedding cakes we create we hold the right to publish photographs on social media sites, our own website and promotional material; however we will not post any photographs until after the event has taken place.
